Sunday stroll

Having dogs you do have to take them out for walks but this exercise is helpful for me at this time while I am trying to strengthen my hip. On Sunday's when possible we take the pups down to Hillsborough Park. It is a really lovely stroll.
When you get to the bottom end of the lake there is a small bridge and the base is made of sheets of metal which move and 'boing' when walked on. This unfortunately has led to Gracie being 'spooked' when coming up to this and sets her bottom to the ground and will not budge. This has led me to have to carry her over the bridge in recent times but today I thought I would try to persuade her, rather than carry, which backfired! She pulled even hard against her harness and lead which came over her head, which left her sitting there with no restraints. Thankfully, she didn't realise this before I had her picked up.

So Gracie was carried like a 'Princess' all the way back to the car. The other pups enjoyed the rest of their walk, looking up at her at times, probably wondering 'Why on earth was Gracie not having to walk as well!'

But, now it's feet up and to watch The Master's final day!

If, any one who reads this blog has any kind of pet, it would be great to get a comment about what type it is.......

  1. I too love a stroll with my two mutts, Benson (Brown Lab - dog), Pringle (Border Collie - bitch) and my now 4 year old daughter Sarah (Pretty white female). All three can almost walk the legs off of me which is why I have started to take my fitness to another level. Watch this space, as next year we will all be running the same route.
